About Light Burdens

Faith was never meant to crush you.

But for many of us, somewhere along the way, following Jesus started to feel heavy.

Heavy with pressure.
Guilt.
Expectations.
The quiet fear that God is disappointed in us.

Light Burdens exists for Christians who love God but feel tired, anxious, ashamed, burned out, or spiritually worn thin.

Here, you’ll find short Scripture-rooted devotionals, reflection questions, and prayer prompts for people who are learning to set down what God never asked them to carry.

Not a louder, busier faith built on performance.
A lighter one.

The name comes from the words of Jesus:

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest… For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28, 30

That invitation is the heartbeat of this space.

Light Burdens is about meeting Jesus in the middle of the weight.

The devotional writing here focuses on real burdens people carry: anxiety, shame, comparison, religious pressure, emotional exhaustion, fear about the future, and the ache of trying so hard to be enough.

Each reflection is meant to help us pause, breathe, pray honestly, and ask a simple question:

What am I carrying that Jesus didn’t give me?

Light Burdens is also the home of the upcoming devotional project:

When Faith Feels Heavy
40 Devotions for the Spiritually Exhausted

This 40-day journey is being written for tired believers who need to rediscover the gentleness of Christ. Each day includes Scripture, a short devotion, reflection questions, a prayer prompt, and one small practice for learning to walk lighter.

If your faith has felt more like a burden than a refuge lately, you’re not alone.

You don’t have to perform your way back to peace.

You’re invited to come honestly, come tired, and come as you are.
There’s grace here.

And there may be some things you are finally allowed to set down.
